Recognizing Rwandan Women of Courage

Announcement:

International Women’s Day is approaching and the U.S. Embassy wants to hear about your heroes!

Please send us a Facebook message or e-mail to KigaliPublicAffairs@state.gov by February 28 telling us about a Rwandan woman who inspires you by her courage and commitment to make her community a better place.  She could be a teacher, doctor, lawyer, NGO worker, businesswoman, or public servant. We’ll select several nominees to be recognized during Women’s History Month as Rwandan Women of Courage.

DETAILS: Nominations should be sent by private message to U.S. Embassy Kigali’s Facebook page (click the “message” button above our timeline) or e-mail to KigaliPublicAffaris@state.gov.  Highlight a woman you personally know and include 3-6 sentences explaining why you believe your nominee deserves to be recognized as a Woman of Courage.  What kind of work does she do and how has she made a difference for those around her? Please include your nominee’s contact information so we can request additional details if necessary.  Selected nominees will be recognized at a special ceremony by the U.S. Ambassador during Women’s History Month.
